Personal Profile - Richard Jordan In 1974 a friend purchased a 1968 +8 and allowed me to drive it. I was extremely impressed with the cars performance. Consequently in August 1974 I went to the Morgan Agent in South Kensington, London and placed my order. My first visit to the Morgan Motor Company was in January 1979 when I first saw my car as a rolling chassis. My second visit was 4th April 1979 to take delivery of my red +8. I joined the Morgan Sports Car Club immediately. I attended my first London Centre noggin during May 1979. I was the London Centre Scribe from June 1986 until May 1988.
I met Anita, now my wife, on Morgans Over America I 1990. We married in July 1993. We moved to Bletchley in May 1995. We attended our first CranMog meeting in June 1995. I took over the job of Scribe for CranMog in May 1997 when Andrew Culpin moved to America. My cars claim to fame is that after three Morgans Over America tours it has now covered more miles in America than England. In common with many other Morgan owners I have christened my car but I am informed by Anita it’s too impolite to publish. Prior to moving to Bletchley in 1995 I have always lived in Hampstead and worked in Central London. Sport has always played an important part in my life. Over the years I have covered the full spectrum. My most recent sporting achievement was completing the 1991 London Marathon raising money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. During the run I appeared twice on BBC television. Currently my only sporting activities are two weeks skiing holiday each year and watching Manchester United. (Richard must be our dieter of the year, he's slimmed down from 26 stone to 16 stone just by cutting out beer and chocolate and chips and crisps and pies and cream cakes - can't be a real CranMogger anymore! - Webmaster) |
