Personal Profile - Jacqui Booth  I became a member of Cranmog in May 2007, in fact on the very day my husband, Michael and I collected our 1998 Indigo Blue 4/4 Morgan from Brands Hatch Morgan. Owning a Morgan was Michael’s long time dream and I finally persuaded this “Yorkshire man” to part with his money! A week later we drove to Cornwall and on the way discovered that not only had we bought a splendid car, we had also bought into a “new family”! We pulled into Fleet Services and alongside us another Morgan came to rest, we got chatting - as you do – and this gentleman from Kent proceeded to tell us how marvellous owning a Morgan was. We went on our way and he on his, we passed each other several times on the journey, each time with a friendly wave and since then we have discovered that everyone wants to have a chat and admire the car. We learnt a lot about our particular vehicle on that holiday, where the leaks were, how difficult it was to put the hood up, what fun it was to be in etc. etc. Michael now has the hood fitting down to a fine art but I still keep nagging for an easyfit conversion, well it took years to actually get the car so I shan’t hold my breath.I spent my working life as a secretary and now, having retired from formal employment find myself in that role again! I have two grown up children, a married daughter and a son who still lives at home. Although relatively new to Cranmog, Michael and I have already have made new friends, enjoyed several weekends away and many various events organised by the Club. Hopefully there will be many more to come! |
