Personal Profile - Andrew & Nicola Banner

Andrew at speed The proceeds of a house sale in 1999 left me with a sizeable amount of disposable cash. Having been considering a Morgan for a number of years, probably since seeing Sir John Harvey Jones' show in the early 90s, in fact, I decided to take a test drive in a 4/4 4 Seater that Allon Whites had for sale. Nicola and I were driven around Cranfield by Philip from AW for a short time and then I got my chance to drive it for myself. What great fun. Unfortunately it wasn't quite so much fun for Nicky sat on the back seats which are rather higher than the windscreen.

Back at Allon White's we deliberated for about an hour over whether we really wanted to spend all that money on a car. The decision was made on the basis that if we put it in the bank, we'd just fritter it away and be left with nothing to show for it, oh and it was fun.

Money spent, we became the proud owners of a 1991 4/4 wide bodied 4 seater and joined Cranmog. Having never been part of a "car club" before, we didn't know what to expect. We certainly didn't expect the huge variety of characters of the moggy fraternity. We've not looked back.

Nicola sporting our fine regalia When we moved house in 1999 we had to leave the Morgan at our old house because we didn't have a garage. That meant a 2 mile journey to get the car when we wanted to use it and that put us off - so we built a garage at our new house.

In April 2001 we became a family with the birth of our daughter, Freya who got her first Cranmog airing at Sporting Bears 2001. An instant hit, Freya is sure to be turning up at all manner of moggie events in the future.

September 2002 saw the arrival of our second child, Amelia. Amelia visited her first Cranmog event at just one week old.
